Chiropractor Timothy Dembowski: Hello and welcome to Spinal Aid, Atlanta’s number one
franchised spinal decompression facility. I’m Doctor Timothy Dembowski, and I am going to talk a little about a new medical breakthrough, non-surgical spinal decompression.

Statistics show that 8 out of 10 people will suffer from neck and back pain at some point in their life. For many years those who suffer form the debilitating effects of bulging and herniated discs, sciatica, stenosis, and spinal degeneration and arthritis have had little to no alternative to surgery; that is until now.

This painless spinal decompression procedure, illustrated here, starts off with the chriopractor strapping a two-piece harness onto the patient.  The chiropractor then has the patient rest against a spinal decompression table that is slowly lowered down.

As soon as the patient is lying flat, the chiropractor adjusts the harness straps. The harness is then connected to the bottom and top of the spinal decompression table. A pillow is put under the patient’s head, and the patient’s knees are raised by placing a wedge beneath them. Patients are often so relaxed on the spinal decompression table that they fall asleep during the painless procedure.

The spinal decompression strap connecting with the body harness is angled to adjust a particular vertebral level. The strap connects to a computer-controlled mechanism that is continually loosed and tightened, gradually pulling on the spine to add space between the vertebrae. The result is the damaged spinal disc is repaired.

Neck pain is relieved on another spinal decompression table that works with a harness designed for the neck region. A patient typically spends about 20 minutes on both of the spinal decompression tables.

Following treatment the chiropractor removes the spinal decompression straps connecting the harness to the table and machine. He also removes leg wedge, pillow, and then raises the table to return the patient to a standing position. The harness is removed completing the spinal decompression
treatment.

Here in our midtown Atlanta facility we have sucessfully saved over 250 patients from under going surgery, a number we are very proud of. This revolutionary back pain therapy is based on alleviating pressure on the delicate tissues that surround the spine, include the spinal discs. Most spinal disc problems are either felt in the neck or low back and here at Spinal Aid Atlanta we treat both with great success.

Atlanta CBS News 46 Video on Spinal Decompression

Transcript of the spinal decompression video:

CBS Atlanta News Reporter: If you have to suffer through the pain of a bulging or herniated disc well then you know that up until now there’s basically been one solution – surgery and then more surgery, but now science has brought us spinal decompression. That’s right it’s exactly what it sounds like.

It’s a relatively new treatment that can relieve and even eliminate chronic back pain without the use of drugs or surgery. Instead, a highly specialized machine creates negative pressure on a damaged disc to pull herniated material back into the disc and then it stimulates the body to heal itself.

Atlanta ChiropractorTimothy Dembowski: The results have been remarkable, prior to spinal decompression we were only able to get so far with herniated discs, now we actually have a permanent solution for them. I’d say 80 to 90 percent of our clients find permanent relief, permanent change.

CBS Atlanta News Reporter: The spinal decompression procedure itself is painless. A harness is fitted around your waist, and fastened to the machine, which then tugs at your lower back with nearly imperceptible traction.

Patient: Well it’s very relaxing.

CBS Atlanta News Reporter: Comforting?

Patient: Yeah, it is, no pain at all.

CBS Atlanta News Reporter: And it gets better. Aside from the high rate of success, spinal decompression has no side effects.

Atlanta Chiropractor Timothy Dembowski: With spinal decompression there are no adverse effects, no side effects, and really when you’re done you are done.

CBS Atlanta News Reporter: On average, the number of treatments seems to be about twenty. For some patients a few more or less are needed depending on the severity of the issue. Spinal decompression doesn’t always fix all of the problems all of the time, so Doctor Dembowski prefers a multi-prong approach, including therapy with an ion foot bath and a cold laser.

Atlanta Chiropractor Timothy Dembowski: We’re going to look at the body as a whole and treat it as a whole. A lot of times the spinal decompression is a great thing, if we can get the body healthy, that’s all we need. But for some others there are other complicating factors.

Chronic Back Pain Relief

New Hope For Chronic Back Pain Sufferers

by Atlanta Chiropractic Doctor Timothy Dembowski

reprinted from Physician News Update, Winter 2008

A doctor from Atlanta is using a new medical breakthrough to relieve chronic back pain.

For lower back pain caused by over-exertion, strain or sprain injuries; treatments such as chiropractic, medications and injections may bring relief. But for those suffering from chronic and more severe back pain, there has been little rescue – until now. Dr. Timothy Dembowski, D.C. has recently brought a revolutionary back pain treatment to Atlanta: the revolutionary procedure is known as Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression.

A new medical breakthrough, spinal decompression specializes in treating lower back pain from disc bulges and hernias, sciatica, stenosis, degenerative discs, arthritis or facet syndrome.

It was discovered that the effects of spinal decompression relieved back pain and increased the height of the disc. This led to the development of this new technology, allowing us to rescue those with chronic back pain.

“For years, we’ve seen patients suffer despite multiple opinions and therapies. I’m thrilled to be able to alleviate my patients’ back pain with this new state-of-the-art treatment,” says Dr. Dembowski, D.C.

This non-surgical procedure is ideal for those with clinically unstable lower backs, who have tried medication unsuccessfully or have been scheduled for lengthy or alternative therapies. In fact, clinical studies have even shown spinal decompression is effective on patients scheduled for surgery or for those who unfortunately have already had surgery – and it failed them.

Dr. Dembowski D.C. continues, “the procedure is non-surgical, drug and needle-free and I’m excited to bring it to Atlanta.”

Shocking News About Back Surgery

The most common procedure for herniated spinal discs up to now has been surgery. Yet, a report in the New England Journal of Medicine states that “51% of all back surgery is unnecessary.”

Decompression therapy has provided relief for many patients suffering from the lack pain of herniated invertebrate discs, sciatica and stenosis.

Dr. Dembowski, D.C. responds, “as a doctor, I err of the side of skepticism, especially of anything with such profound miraculous achievement, but the majority of patients recover in a very short period of time with no documented side effects.”

How It Works

Non-surgical spinal decompression creates a negative pressure inside the disc, which draws in any bulging or herniated material, like suction. This stimulates the body to undergo a process known as “fibroblast activity,” producing fresh new tissues and cells. These new cells attach themselves to torn fibers of the disc that cause its contents to bulge. In essence, it’s like a bone healing. When complete, it is stronger than before.

Spinal Decompression

One of our two spinal decompression machines

The DRX9000™ is a computer-controlled spinal decompression treatment that gently applies non-surgical decompression to your spine to provide back pain relief. As your spine is stretched, intradiscal pressure is reduced and nerves and discs are decompressed.

Spinal Decompression creates a vacuum effect within discs to make any herniated or bulging disc return to its normal shape, so it no longer presses on nerves causing back pain. Spinal decompression also stimulates induction of nutrients and oxygen necessary for healing by increasing circulation into the spinal discs and joints, further helping to reduce back pain.

Atlanta chiropractic doctor Timothy Dembowski uses spinal decompression to provide back pain relief to patients suffering from lower back pain, upper back pain, and neck pain.
